Blacksoil is missional Christian community (church) on the Eastside of Lansing, MI. Our desire is to be a fresh, compassionate, vibrant expression of God’s love to our neighbors in the city.

We want to be a movement, working toward God’s redemption of people, institutions, and culture. Bringing the good news that a better world is possible, coming, and in some ways, already breaking in around us.
INCARNATION – Roots. Beauty. Culture.
We want to be a presence, celebrating what is good, creative, and beautiful in this world and this place; supporting local arts, culture, business, and neighborhoods.
COMMUNITY – Friendship. Dignity. Unity.
We want to be a family, utilizing, and celebrating the unique gifts of each member; living life together, sharing each other’s burdens and joys.
RECONCILIATION – Healing. Diversity. Creation-Care.
We want the peace-makers, tearing down walls that separate people from God, each other, and a healthy relationship with the Earth.
TRANSFORMATION – Prayer. Sacrament. Disciplines.
We want to be transformed, seeking the renewal of our whole selves through ancient practices of prayer, mediations, scripture reading, and sacraments.
